Harris Academy pupils were forced to evacuate their school building when fire was discovered in an external toilet.
Fire services attended the school on Dundee’s Lawton Road at lunchtime.
It’s understood one of the teachers had to kick down a door to start to tackle the fire at the former Rockwell High.
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service confirmed no one was injured and there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
She added: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus put the fire out using a hosereel.”
A spokesman for Dundee City Council said: “Emergency services were called and the school was evacuated over lunchtime while the incident was being dealt with. The school returned to normal a short while later.”
