A woman killed in a road accident in Birkhill on Monday has been identified as 61-year-old Ella Maxwell.
Emergency services were called to Dronley Road in the village shortly after 2pm after receiving reports a woman had been knocked down by a car.
Mrs Maxwell was treated by paramedics in the road after the collision but they were unable to save her life.
Police Scotland issued a short statement on Tuesday afternoon saying: “Police Scotland’s Tayside Division can confirm that a female pedestrian who suffered fatal injuries as a result of a road traffic incident on Monday 23 May at Dronley Road in Birkhill has now been named as 61-year-old Ella Maxwell from the Birkhill area.”
As with all sudden deaths, a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
