Supermarket giant Tesco has raised £10 million for The British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK just 16 months into a three-year charity drive.
Staff at Tesco Extra have on the Kingsway contributed £22,500 to the total while £775,000 was raised across Scotland.
In the first 16 months of fundraising, the branch has regularly been one of the top 10 performing of Tesco’s 500 UK stores.
Launched in January 2015, the three year Partnership between Tesco, Diabetes UK and the BHF aims to raise £30 million. Half the money raised will fund the vital and ongoing work of both charities while the remainder will go to campaigns to encourage healthy living.
