A Dundee architects firm has won a major prize for design.
Leadingham Jameson Rohers + Hynd, working in collaboration with Professor Grame Hutton of Dundee School of Architecture, won the residential category in the Scottish Design Awards for their “Zinc-House” near Monikie.
The practice previously won the award in 2009 for the design of “The Shed” in Meigle.
Both properties are part of a wider project exploring how buildings can fit in with the rural landscape.
Bob Hynd from LJR+H said: “It’s an incredible achievement for a relatively small practice such as ourselves to twice win the Scottish Design award for the design of a one-off house, especially as we believe that we are the only practice to have done so. It is also a tribute to the standard of design in the city’s School of Architecture.”
