An initiative aimed at turning Dundee into a city of tennis lovers has been launched.
The project, launched by Leisure & Culture Dundee, Dundee City Council and Tennis Scotland, makes a commitment to providing new opportunities for all to play the game.
Free tennis classes will be offered to people across the city as well as other opportunities including Tennis Xpress and Cardio Tennis.
The new community programme also brings the appointment of David Anderson as new head community tennis coach in the city.
He said: “I have coached multiple sports across the city and have seen the potential to further develop tennis with all the free park facilities we have at our disposal in Dundee. I am just really excited to begin this post.”
Bob Duncan, chairman of Leisure & Culture Dundee, said: “This announcement will make it more accessible and affordable for people in Dundee to play tennis.
“This programme has the potential to inspire new people of all ages involved in the sport and we can’t wait to get started.
“The clubs in Dundee do a tremendous job and this programme will really add value to what they already provide.”
