Four friends who travelled to the other side of the world to raise awareness and funds for the terminally ill at home have raised an impressive £16,000.
Fran Beaton and Sandra Tindal from Broughty Ferry, Judith Strachan from Birkhill and Jill Smith from Monifieth completed a gruelling five-day trek in Peru for Marie Curie.
The fearless fundraisers were part of a 12-strong group from the UK.
Commenting on her epic journey, mum-of-three Fran, a former nurse, said: “It was incredible, really, really tough – much tougher than I thought it would be but I’d say to anyone thinking about doing something big ‘just go for it’.”
