A new video has been released showing proposed flood defences at Broughty Ferry.
The early concept plans show a flood wall running between the river and waterfront housing. Breaks in the wall would be closed during periods of high risk, similar to how Perth’s successful new flood defences operate.
It also envisages major new features at Beach Crescent, where the current narrow path would be replaced by steps down on to the shoreline.
An informal consultation on the proposals was held last week, with plans for further community involvement to come.
The work comes after the Scottish Environment Protection Agency identified central Broughty Ferry as a high risk area for coastal flooding.
The Broughty Ferry work would be part of a bigger project to beef up the city’s defences as far west as Dundee Airport.
