Airline Flybe has said it assessing whether to add more routes to and from Dundee Airport following the successful introduction of flights to Amsterdam.
Thousands of seats on the Amsterdam flights were purchased with the first few weeks of sale, with 1,400 on the first week alone.
Its success has now prompted Flybe to begin work looking at the feasibility of adding new European routes, with Paris and Dublin suggested as possible destinations.
A Flybe spokeswoman said: “Flybe continues to be pleased with the current support that this route is attracting.
“This has certainly been one of Flybe’s most successful ever start-up routes.”
The Dundee-Amsterdam air link, which received funding from the UK Regional Air Connectivity Fund, was introduced on May 23.
The service runs once per day and around 87 full flights were booked between the two cities prior to launch.
Flybe offers a range of fares for the new service, the lowest standing at £24.99 one way, including all taxes and charges.
These lowest fares sell quickly, especially during peak travel times such as school and bank holidays.
The spokeswoman added: “The pricing model incentivises passengers to book early by offering lowest fare initiatives from the time the schedule is released.
“However, as the date of travel approaches, remaining supply and the demand dictates the fare levels that will be applied.
“As a result, we always advise passengers to book in advance so that they can take advantage of these low fares and avoid disappointment.”
