Emergency services continue to scour the river Tay at Dundee following reports of a person in difficulties in the water.
The search has now entered a second phase, with a Coastguard helicopter refuelling in Aberdeen before returning.
The Broughty Ferry lifeboat and launch are still on the river and expect to continue searching until around 8.30pm.
By then failing light and thick haar are likely to prevent any further search of the water.
Lifeboat crews from Broughty Ferry were scrambled at around 4.10pm following reports that someone had been spotted in the water.
Police Scotland said: “Emergency services were alerted to a report of a member of the public, believed to be a man, entering the River Tay.
“Police urge anyone who was travelling on the bridge from 3pm this afternoon and possibly saw a man walking in the area to make contact via 101.”
The focus of the search was initially the area between the V&A construction site and Tesco on the Riverside.
Coastguard and police units swiftly joined the effort, with the Coastguard search and rescue helicopter arriving.
Spotters were situated on the bridge with binoculars to assist in the search and they slowly made their way down the bank towards first the rail bridge and then Bridgeview Station as the search area widened.
Lifeboat, launch and helicopter all swept areas of the grey water in fairly poor visibility throughout the afternoon and early evening.

At one stage, onlookers saw a flare in the water and with red smoke billowing, helicopter, lifeboat and launch all converged briefly towards Dundee Airport.
Just as swiftly they split again and began to sweep the water once more, as the helicopter set off to refuel.
