Police have released images of a man they want to speak to in connection with an assault in the city that took place in December.
The man is described as being about 18 years of age, 5ft 8in tall and of slim build. He is also described as wearing a long sleeved grey top and having mid-length brown hair with a fringe that was swept to the right.
It is understood the man came from the direction of the Townhouse Inn and was with two other men.
The assault took place on Saturday December 5 at approximately 11.30pm.
The 26-year-old victim of the assault required medical attention for a fractured elbow after the incident.
Detective Sergeant Mike Ness said: “The male in these images was seen in the area at the time of the assault, I would ask him, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward as they may have information to assist with our enquiries”
“In addition, anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone who has information regarding the assault is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, or speak to any Police Officer. Information can also be passed anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
