Junior sleuths are being invited to the Dundee Science Centre to take part in the CSI summer school programme.
Developed by a host of crime scene investigation experts, the summer school will give budding detectives the opportunity to visit a mock crime scene, dust for fingerprints, identify body-parts and dig for bones in the “dig-pit”.
There will also be a series of “meet-the-expert” events on the second Saturday of each month.
Specialists from the crime scene investigation and fingerprint identification fields will be on hand to describe the day-to-day running of a CSI unit, and will host a question and answer session.
Exhibition and communication engagement officer Aisha Schofield said: “The CSI summer school is themed on a criminal break in at a museum.
“Visitors will be able to learn all about fingerprint identification and other forensic science techniques.
“Younger visitors will be able to don CSI suits and dig for bones in our ‘dig-pit’.
“During our ‘meet-the-expert’ event, a uniformed officer from Police Scotland will be on hand to display fingerprint and footprint identification techniques.”
The interactive summer school is described as family friendly, and will be running at the centre until September 4.
