Dundee had its second royal visit in three days on Friday, when Prince Edward came to the city’s chambers.
The Earl of Wessex was joined by politicians and young people from across the city to mark the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh awards.
A group of participants in the scheme also completed a challenge for their diamond level award by climbing and abseiling down a climbing wall provided by Ancrum Outdoor Centre.
Police Scotland inspector Cath Lannen also got involved the fun, battling her fear of heights to take on the challenge.
She said: “I take my hat off to all the kids that did it today.
“Today has been an opportunity for them to come along and show us what they’re doing. It’s been absolutely fantastic.”
Derek Napier, outdoor learning manager for Leisure & Culture Dundee, added: “It is important to get young people out achieving these awards. It is a really good thing to get on your CV, and gives you all sort of life skills.”
