A homeless Dundee man has appeared at the city’s sheriff court charged with a series of historic rapes, assaults and indecent assaults on men, women and children.
Brian McTaggart, described as being of no fixed abode, faces 18 serious charges, some dating back almost 40 years.
They include two charges alleging that he assaulted and raped women to the endangerment of their lives, another of rape and five charges of indecent assault.
He also faces three charges of fireraising.
The offences are alleged to have taken place at addresses across Dundee and at Clatto Park Reservoir.
McTaggart, 52, appeared in private on petition before Sheriff Alastair Brown and made no plea or declaration.
His case was continued for further examination, with bail granted.
That was immediately appealed by The Crown and McTaggart remanded in custody pending that bail appeal.
