1000 runners donned their running shoes and took part in Sunday’s 2016 Dundee Running Adventure Marathon and Half Marathon.

900 runners participated in the 13 mile half marathon whilst 100 brave souls took on the mammoth 26.5 mile full marathon.

Blustery conditions proved challenging for racers to overcome, but despite this, several personal best times were secured in both events.

The full marathon, which started and finished in Camperdown Park, was won by David Henderson.

The silver gong was secured by Martin Devine, of Portobello.

Neil Badavi, of Carluke, finished in third.

Eighteen-year-old Harvey Rankin recorded a personal best to take gold in the half marathon.

Harvey finished the race in just over an hour and a quarter and admitted he found the headwind tough to deal with.

Second place was taken by John Redding, from Linlithgow, who enjoyed the race, but conceded he, too, struggled at times with the wind.

Mike Herron completed the list of podium finishers, securing both a personal and event best time.
