A Dundee road has been left looking like it was struck by an earthquake following torrential rainstorms.
The road at the junction of Edward Street and Polepark Road was torn up as a result of Wednesday evening’s deluge.
A Dundee City Council spokesman said they were notified of the damage to the road on Wednesday and put up barriers to prevent vehicles using the road.
A spokesperson for Scottish Water said: “The issue at Edward Street has been passed to our standby team and will be inspected by early evening. Once our team have carried out an inspection of the damage any additional work will be arranged.
“We received a report of a manhole cover having been displaced during the severe weather. It is not yet clear what has caused the cracks in the road and whether it is a related to this issue.”
