A car flipped onto its side near a busy Dundee roundabout on Thursday night and resulted in a female driver being taken to Ninewells Hospital.
The two-vehicle collision happened just before 8.30pm, with the woman cut out of her vehicle by fire crews before being taken to hospital.
The incident took place at the Scott Fyffe roundabout just off Arbroath Road in the city, with police, ambulance and fire crews all in attendance.
One eyewitness said: “There were two ambulances making their way to the scene when I drove past, as well as some traffic police and a fire crew.
“Traffic was still being allowed to flow towards Broughty Ferry.”
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said: “We received a call from Police Scotland at 8.26pm to report a two-vehicle crash at the roundabout.
“Two cars are involved and one is reported to be on its side. Fire officers using hydraulic cutting equipment freed the driver of one of the cars and they were taken to hospital.”
Two appliances from Kingsway attended, while police monitored the traffic.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Around 8.20pm on Thursday May 27, police received a report of a road crash involving two cars at the Scott Fyffe roundabout, Arbroath Road.
“Emergency services attended and a woman was taken to hospital. Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
The vehicles were recovered around 10pm, the spokeswoman added.
