Meet Buster — the poor mutt who is in the unenviable position of being one of Scotland’s most unloved dogs.
Despite being described as “a lovely boy who is always happy to please” he has been languishing in the Scottish SPCA’s Dundee rehoming centre for a full 506 days.
Charity chiefs say that makes him one of their longest-established residents anywhere in the country — so no wonder he’s starting to feel sorry for himself.
A spokesman said: “He is such a lovely boy who is always happy to please and just wants to give everyone he meets lots of love and affection.”
His carers say the fact Buster does not get on well with other animals might explain why he has not yet found a new owner, but they stress he could make a perfect family dog in the right circumstances.
