A car has crashed into the front of a studio in Broughty Ferry.
The incident happened at Nicoll Russell Studios on Brown Street on Friday morning.
The vehicle smashed through the window and was left lodged in the front of the building.
It is understood the driver did not suffer any serious injuries.
‘The damage is ridiculous’
Ric Russell, owner of the business, says the car was coming from King Street on to Brown Street and “just didn’t stop turning”.
He said: “The damage is ridiculous, there’s glass everywhere and desks are smashed.
“Even a heavy antique drawing board made of cast iron has been thrown about four metres across the room.”
The crash happened at around 9am, before anyone was working in the Broughty Ferry studio.
Mr Russell added: “We have a reduced staff in the building right now because of Covid, but there’s glass all across the desk where our accountant would usually sit.
“If it was an hour and a half later, it would’ve been catastrophic.”
“The neighbours and surrounding businesses – including staff from Cosmetology on King Street – came out to assist the woman in the car before the emergency services arrived.”
Local resident Priscilla Walden says she “jumped out of her skin” when she heard the impact.
She said: “I never came out but as soon as I heard the noise I jumped out of my skin, there was just this loud bang.
“The street is generally quite busy and congested but I was surprised to hear what happened.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland confirmed a woman had received treatment from the Scottish Ambulance Service following the crash.
