Police Scotland are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in the city centre on Thursday evening.
A 47-year-old man was attacked on Sugarhouse Wynd, near Dundee Bus Station, at around 9pm.
Police are keen to talk to a man in connection with the incident who was wearing a dark coloured jacket, with a light coloured top underneath and dress trousers.
He is described as being around 40 years of age, black, of slim build with short, dark hair.
The victim was wearing a navy coloured tracksuit with red sleeves and a long sleeved black top underneath.
He was wearing brown Adidas trainers and was also carrying a black coloured rucksack. He is described as being black, of muscular build, with short dark hair and a goatee style beard and was wearing glasses.
The victim sustained an injury to his hand due to the assault and was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.
