Residents have called for greater transparency from their housing association after two senior committee members temporarily stepped down pending the outcome of an unknown investigation.
A probe is under way at Abertay Housing Association involving Kathleen Mands, chair of the management committee, and vice-chairman Ron Neave.
Ms Mands and Mr Neave were re-elected in October but both have temporarily stepped down from their duties.
In the meantime, Gordon Edwards is serving as the interim chairman, with no vice-chairman until the investigation is completed.
Tenant Catherine Stewart said residents should be told the details of the probe.
She said: “It is made perfectly clear in the committee minutes that the chairperson and vice-chair are currently under investigation.
“Absolutely nowhere does it state why the chair and vice-chair are being investigated.
“Surely such a lack of transparency by Abertay Housing Association, a publicly funded organisation, cannot be proper?
“Solicitors and a HR firm are involved and that is why I believe whatever is being investigated must be very serious.”
Ms Mands is a retired primary school teacher who has sat on Abertay’s management committee since 1999.
She is also a director of the Craigiebank Association, a not-for-profit group managing the grounds and social facilities of Craigiebank Parish Church.
Mr Neave is also a long-standing community figure and current chairman on Fintry Community Council.
Both sit on the association’s asset management and development sub-committees. Ms Mands also sits on the the Audit, Finance and Risk Management committee. Both Mr Neave and Ms Mands declined to comment.
The investigation will be carried out by a sub-committee of association members, whose details have been redacted.
The chairman of the sub-committee gave a verbal update at a recent management committee meeting but said no details could be provided in case it compromised the investigation.
The Scottish Housing Regulator said it will consider any action once the investigation is complete
Both the association and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator said they did not want to comment.
The housing association said: “We cannot comment or speculate on the potential outcome of any investigation.”
