Police were called to Cupar station today after 9.30am after reports of an incident. The deceased has yet to be identified. A statement from British Transport Police read: “A person has sadly died after they were struck by a train at Cupar station this morning. “Officers were called at 9.38am and attended alongside paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service. “Efforts are now being made in order to identify to identify the person and inform their next of kin. “This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a report will be made for the Procurator Fiscal.” The incident has caused rail disruption up the east coast of the country with services cancelled or diverted.
