BBC weather presenter Judith Ralston said she cried “tears of relief” after she was rescued from a locked Dundee car park by two police officers and a security guard.
The Glasgow-based personality, who presents the weather on BBC Scotland, was in the city to host the Tayside Contracts Excellence Awards ceremony at the Caird Hall on Friday.
After missing out on a space behind the venue, she decided to use the nearby Overgate car park.
But, after the event finished, she returned to the car park only to find she was 30 minutes too late and her vehicle was locked in the building.
But, luckily for Judith, two Police Scotland officers, PC Chris Coleman and PC Nigel Green, and Overgate security guard Brian came to her aid.
Judith today spoke to the Tele about the incident, captured in a selfie.
She said: “I was locked out and had to get back to Glasgow for my kids and thought ‘what am I going to do?’
“It was quite dark and I decided walk around to try to find a police officer.
“Then two policemen came round the corner.
“They managed to get in touch with the guy in charge of the car park.”
But the saga wasn’t over for Judith, with the presenter adding: “I was carrying a huge bouquet of flowers and a big bag.
“I couldn’t find my ticket to get my car out, so I had to rummage around to find it in my purse.”
After pausing for a quick selfie with the three who helped her, Judith was on her way home to Glasgow.
PC Green tweeted after the incident: “Glad to see you made it home to your kids safely. Pleasure to help a damsel in distress.”
An Overgate spokeswoman said: “We’re delighted that Brian was able to help Judith get home.”
Despite fronting television programmes, Judith said the men acted out of kindness rather than her status.
She added: “They didn’t know who I was, so they weren’t doing it because I was on TV. They were doing it so I could get back to my kids. I had even thought I could maybe sleep in my car if I was able to get into the car park.
“I was very relieved when I was on my way home. I had tears of relief rolling down my face. It seems daft, but I had to get back to my children.”
