A man has been acquitted of murdering his sister by repeatedly slashing her throat after a jury found the charge not proven.
Jordan Johnstone, 25, went on trial at the High Court in Livingston, accused of murdering his younger sister Annalise in the early hours of May 10 last year, next to a Perthshire monument.
Jurors returned a verdict of not proven to the murder charge today after two weeks of graphic and often disturbing evidence about the disocvery of her body at the Maggie Wall witch memorial, near Dunning.
Johnstone took the witness stand and claimed his former co-accused Angela Newlands killed his sister, however, Newlands was earlier acquitted of all the charges against her.
