A drunken thug thumped a bouncer outside a casino before attacking a passer-by who tried to intervene.
Calvin Foy, of Findchapel Place, was found hiding behind bins by police following the incident in the city centre last November.
The 24-year-old also admitted attacking another bouncer and a police officer at Club Tropicana earlier this month.
In the first incident, Foy was denied entry to the Grosvenor Casino on West Marketgait by bouncer Douglas Senior because he believed he was too drunk.
Foy initially walked away but returned and punched Mr Senior once on the head.
This was witnessed by another man who asked Foy to stop but he was also punched.
Police were contacted and later found Foy hiding behind bins on North Lindsay Street.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard both of Foy’s victims suffered swollen eyes.
During the second incident, Foy refused to leave Club Tropicana when requested to do so and began throwing punches and elbows at a bouncer’s body before pushing a police officer.
He was later found in possession of 0.9g of cocaine worth £90 at police headquarters.
Foy pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Senior and Adam MacDonald on November 5 as well as attacking steward Jalal Al-Jumaily and PC Ian Storrar on February 9.
Solicitor Anne Duffy said she accepted that custody would be at the forefront of Sheriff Alastair Brown’s mind but hoped he would give Foy a chance to stay out of trouble.
The court heard Foy has previous convictions for assault to severe injury, stalking and knife possession.
Sheriff Brown said: “You are long past the end of the line and you will go to prison.”
Foy was sentenced to 12 months in prison and banned from both venues for 18 months.
