Shane McVicar, of Balmoral Terrace, committed the assaults on January 28 last year. The 35-year-old stole toiletries from Poundstretcher on High Street, Lochee, before headbutting shop assistant Scott Grubb. McVicar then made his way to Aldi and Home Bargains at The Stack where he made off with alcohol and toiletries. He attacked Aldi employee Ali Aktary by striking him on the head. Dundee Sheriff Court heard McVicar stole goods worth more than £300 which were fully recovered. He was sentenced to nine months in prison.
