Michael Mason, of Brewery Lane, pleaded guilty to committing the offences on June 4 last year. He also admitted making racial remarks during the same incident. Mason acted in a racially aggravated manner towards Helen Jam, a charge nurse, by shouting, swearing and making racially offensive remarks. He assaulted healthcare assistant Kenneth Christie at Ward 17 by repeatedly punching him on the body. The 36-year-old then attacked PC Scott McGregor by butting him on the body. Mason pleaded guilty to all three charges. Sheriff Gregor Murray deferred sentence on Mason until February 28 so that a criminal justice social work report can be prepared.
