A man has been ordered to perform unpaid work after he admitted assaulting his mother.
Stephen Leithead, of Fairbairn Street, also threw a weight at a door during the incident at an address on the same street on December 8 last year.
He pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting and swearing at Anna Whyte, as well as throwing a weight at a door and behaving aggressively.
Leithead, 35, then seized Ms Whyte by the body and pushed her, causing her to strike her head on a wall to her injury.
Sheriff George Way imposed a community payback order with 110 hours of unpaid work and one year of supervision.
