A woman assaulted and stalked by her ex-partner has hit out at his four-month prison sentence.
Alexander Shepherd, of Foundry Lane, repeatedly made calls and sent texts to Becki Moorhead earlier this month – just days after he was placed on a non-harassment order designed to keep him away from her.
After admitting at Dundee Sheriff Court to breaching the order, the 37-year-old was jailed for four months.
But Becki, 26, believes that the sentence is not enough for the ordeal that Shepherd put her through.
Speaking to the Tele, she said: “He only got four months, which means he’ll be out in two.
“The whole thing had been going on since last June when I broke up with him. He just wouldn’t accept that I didn’t want to be with him.
“He kept sending me messages, he was turning up at my house, my university, my gym, I couldn’t get away from him.
“He just kept saying that he wanted me back but I don’t want anything to do with him.
“I don’t think the sentence was enough because he’ll be out before you know it.”
Shepherd previously pleaded guilty to assaulting Becki as well as twice breaching bail by going to her house when he was banned from doing so.
He admitted placing his arm across her shoulders, restraining her against a wall and struggling with her at an address on Gardner Street on July 9 last year.
Shepherd appeared from custody and pleaded guilty to breaching the terms of the non-harassment order, imposed on January 3, on various occasions between January 15-23.
He stared at her and repeatedly approached and contacted her in person, by phone, text and voicemail on Princes Street, Gardner Street and elsewhere.
