A trial date has been fixed for a man accused of assaulting two people in a McDonald’s restaurant.
Arran Brown, of Balerno Place, is also alleged to have behaved in a threatening or abusive manner at the eatery on Reform Street on March 24 last year.
Prosecutors allege that Brown assaulted Josh Rivett by slapping him on the face.
The 23-year-old then allegedly punched Aiden Murray on the head, an offence allegedly motivated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation.
Brown also denies directing a homophobic remark at Mr Murray.
Representing himself, Brown pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
Sheriff Gregor Murray fixed a trial date for April 15.
He also set an intermediate diet for March 26.
