Alistair Christie, 31, of Ballater Place, denies fireraising.
Christie denies wilfully setting fire to items in a room at Dundee Survival Group, Foundry Lane, causing damage and leading to the hostel being evacuated, to the danger of people there, on February 17.
He further denies damaging a wardrobe by smashing it and making holes in it with a hammer. And he denies aggressive behaviour by barricading himself in the room during the fire, refusing to come out, making threats, smashing a hammer against a door, climbing out of a window, sitting on the ledge and smashing a window with a hammer.
A further first diet was set for December 12.
