A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a man accused of avoiding paying more than £18,000 in VAT after he failed to appear in court.
Iain Wilson, 47, of Inchyra Place, is accused of being concerned in the evasion of VAT at Staffa Place and elsewhere between April 2015 and October last year, when he pretended to officers of HMRC that he had paid VAT on goods and received VAT on sales as well as producing documents he knew to be false, thereby receiving £18,832 in a rebate.
