Frank Watt, of Tulloch Court, admitted to stealing the cakes and make-up from Poundland in the Wellgate Centre on Saturday. The 32-year-old further admitted shouting, swearing, gesticulating in an aggressive manner and failing to desist. The court heard staff at the store noticed Watt lift the items at around 3pm on the day in question. A security guard stood by the door to await Watt, employed as a labourer for Dundee City Council, approaching the exit and alerted a colleague. He was spotted grabbing make-up near the exit and was told to go back into the store after being approached by staff. Police were contacted and Watt began to shout “**** off” and gave the middle finger to staff. Solicitor Gary McIlravie said Watt had been drinking most of the day and had no recollection of the incident. Sheriff Alastair Brown deferred sentence until December 21.
