A man caught drink-driving while trying to move his car has been fined and banned from the road.
Grant Craven, 39, was more than twice the alcohol limit while driving on Riverside Drive on October 20.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard that Craven was at a party on Session Street with family members and had initially gone to his car to charge his phone.
But instead he decided to move his car to a public car park.
Police received a report at around 1.30am about a suspected drink-driver leaving Session Street.
A registration number was provided 20 minutes later.
Fiscal depute Sue Ruta said: “Police on patrol on Riverside Drive saw the vehicle driving westwards.
“The vehicle was stopped and a test was carried out which was registered as 62 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath.
“He was taken to police headquarters where a reading of 50 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath was given.”
Sheriff John Rafferty heard Craven, of Alva, Clackmannanshire, was “very embarrassed” to find himself in the dock and is now facing the prospect of losing his job as a result of the conviction.
Before disqualifying Craven for 12 months and fining him £700, Sheriff Rafferty said: “You were significantly over the limit in this case.
“It is to your credit that you have acknowledged your guilt and you can face a discount if you take part in the drink-drive rehabilitation scheme.”
