A drunken man ended up in handcuffs and a police cell after refusing to pay the entry fee into a Dundee nightclub.
George Williamson, 35, of Dean Avenue, was arrested after an abusive episode at the front door of Rendezvous on Union Street.
Williamson first came to the attention of police at 1.20am on November 18 last year after they received a call from the club’s door staff.
He had been making a scene at the front door, refusing to pay the entry fee, acting aggressively and being abusive to staff.
Fiscal depute Kirsten Letford told Dundee Sheriff Court: “When police attended they saw the accused shouting and swearing and threatening staff.
“Police asked him to leave but he refused and continued with his aggressive behaviour.
“His behaviour escalated and he was put in handcuffs and taken to a police vehicle.”
Williamson struggled with the officers, attempting to prevent the handcuffs being put on and stop himself being placed inside the vehicle.
He was taken to police headquarters.
Williamson admitted one charge of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by shouting, swearing, uttering threats and struggling with police, on Union Street, on November 18 last year.
Sentence was deferred until November 20 for background reports.
