A man who stole three purses at a university library then went shopping has been locked up.
Brian Millar, 22, of Soapwork Lane, was jailed for 13 months after using other people’s bank cards to buy goods from convenience stores in the Hilltown.
He admitted six charges against him, three of theft and three of fraud.
Millar admitted stealing a purse containing bank cards, a driving licence and photographs from Abertay University Library in Bell Street, on September 19 this year.
He admitted then presenting the stolen bank cards to purchase £27.98 worth of goods by fraud, at Spar, Hilltown, on the same date.
Millar also admitted using a stolen card to purchase £19.20 worth of goods by fraud from Family Shopper, Hilltown, on the same date.
He further admitted stealing a second purse containing bank cards, driving licence and cards, from the same library the following day.
Millar admitted then using stolen cards to purchase £28.12 worth of goods by fraud from Faruq Traders, Hilltown, also on September 20.
And he admitted stealing a third purse containing bank cards and money, again from the same student library, on September 21.
All of the offences were committed while Millar was on bail.
