A man has denied setting fire to his room in a homeless hostel before barricading himself inside and smashing a hammer through a door frame.
Alistair Christie, of Ballater Place, denies three charges on an indictment, alleged to have taken place at the Dundee Survival Group, on Foundry Lane, on February 17.
The 31-year-old is alleged to have wilfully set fire to items in a room in the hostel.
It is said that the unit had to be evacuated as a result.
Christie denies a second charge of damaging a built-in wardrobe in the room. All of the offences were allegedly committed while Christie was subject to a bail order.
He previously appeared from custody in February on petition when he made no plea to the charges.
After appearing before Sheriff Lorna Drummond, Christie’s case was continued for a first diet until October 30.
