Eric Cox, 41, threatened to slash members of the public, while having three knives in his possession in a Dundee park.
Cox, a prisoner at Perth, had sentence deferred at Dundee Sheriff Court until October 31 for reports.
He admitted abusive behaviour at Morrisons, Afton Way, by shouting and swearing at staff and threatening them with violence on June 23.
He also admitted three charges of possessing an offensive weapon, namely a lock knife, Swiss army knife and a multitool with a blade, all at Caird Park, on the same date.
He further admitted another charge of abusive behaviour, also at Caird Park, by acting aggressively and threatening to slash members of the public.
