A man has been jailed after being caught stealing two bottles of vodka from a city supermarket.
Bartosz Bajorek, 28, appeared from custody and admitted stealing the bottles of Absolut Vodka, worth £41.98, from the Co-Op on Albert Street on July 3.
There was no recovery of the vodka but the theft was captured on the store’s CCTV.
The court heard that Bajorek is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence after breaching previous community payback orders and other offences.
Solicitor Anika Jethwa said Bajorek, of Baldovan Terrace, had been binge drinking at the time of the offence.
She said Bajorek had learned from his prison experience and had no intention of getting himself in trouble on his release. Sheriff Simon Collins sentenced him to four months in prison concurrent to his present sentence.
