A man has been jailed for attacking his partner and leaving her with a fractured eye socket.
Martin Cord, 28, of Grampian Gardens, was locked up after previously admitting four charges of assaulting Stacey Laing at various locations in Dundee and Aberdeen.
On September 30 last year, Cord took hold of Ms Laing’s throat and forced her on to the bed before punching her in the face.
Cord admitted he assaulted Ms Laing by seizing her by the throat, pinning her to a bed and repeatedly striking her on the head.
He further admitted punching Ms Laing in the face, punching her head and body and slapping her face at Balerno Place, Balunie Place and at Whitecraig Loan on August 6 2016, as well as on occasions on February 18 and June 5 last year.
Cord was jailed for a total of 23 months.
