A Dundee man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder following an incident at HMP Grampian.
Robert Stratton, 44, appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court charged with assault to injury, permanent disfigurement, attempted murder and assault to severe injury, said to have occurred on September 3.
Stratton, whose address was given as Peterhead, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
The case was fully committed to trial, with a future hearing date yet to be confirmed.
Detective Inspector Stewart Drummond said: “A 44-year-old man has been charged in relation to an alleged attempted murder at HMP Grampian on Monday September 3.”
HMP Grampian, in Peterhead, opened in 2014 as a replacement for HMP Peterhead and HMP Aberdeen.
