A 26-year-old thug has been sent back to jail after attacking a man in Dundee hours after being released from prison.
Darren Rachwal, a prisoner at Perth, admitted that at Dundonald Street on June 1, while acting with others unknown, he assaulted Simon Stewart by demanding he hand over cash, tripped him up, caused him to fall to the ground, punched him on the head and kicked him on the body, rummaged through his clothing and attempted to remove his rucksack, all to his injury, and robbed him of a wallet and a quantity of cash.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard Rachwal had committed the attack hours after being released from prison.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond returned Rachwal to prison for six months and also jailed him for a further 169 days.
