A man has appeared in private at Dundee Sheriff Court accused of making a DIY bomb at his house in Craigiebank.
Allan Peach, 30, of Carlochie Place in Dundee, appeared in private before Sheriff Linda Smith on a petition alleging four charges in total.
Prosecutors allege that on September 6 2018, at Carlochie Place, he made or had in his possession an explosive substance, namely an improvised explosive device with intent by means thereof to endanger life, or cause serious injury to property or enable another person to do so.
He is also alleged to have, on the same date and at the same place, possessed a prohibited weapon, namely CS Spray, for sale; and had in his possession a weapon designed or adapted for the discharge of any noxious liquid, gas or other thing, namely CS Spray.
He is further alleged to have possessed a quantity of knuckledusters for sale or hire at his home on the same date.
Peach’s solicitor Theo Findlay made no plea on his behalf during his brief appearance before the sheriff.
Mr Findlay moved for bail however this was refused by the sheriff and he was remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination and Peach is expected to return to court for a second appearance in private next week to be fully committed for trial.
