A man has been charged with two rapes and giving a child an electric shock.
John Perkinton, 47, of Clepington Court, appeared at the High Court in Glasgow, where he denied 15 charges.
Perkinton is accused of using lewd and libidinous practices towards a child at an address in Dundee in the mid-1990s by making sexual comments and engaging in a sex act and committing a further similar offence against the same youngster in a wooded area.
Perkinton is also alleged to have used lewd and libidinous practices towards another child by touching and trying to kiss the youngster at an address in the city in the late 1990s.
Charges also include touching a youngster – who was under the influence of alcohol or controlled drugs supplied by him – and trying to remove the child’s clothes at a flat in Dundee between the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Perkinton is also accused of assaulting a female about the same time at another address by raping her while she was under the influence of drink and drugs – to which he has lodged a special defence that the woman consented to sex – and raping the same woman on another occasion while she was asleep, to which he has also lodged a special defence of consensual sex. It is further alleged that Perkinton abducted the same woman by locking her in a property against her will.
It is alleged that on further occasions he punched the woman on the head and kicked her on the head and body. He has lodged a special defence of self-defence in relation to that charge.
It is also alleged that he assaulted a child by placing an electrical device on the youngster’s body, giving the child an electric shock, burning the youngster with a cigarette, spitting on the child and striking the child’s head, to their injury and permanent disfigurement.
Perkinton is also charged with indecent assault and supplying cannabis, amphetamine, temazepam, ecstasy and LSD. Trial has been fixed for January 14.
