A man who admitted assault has been put on supervision for 18 months by Sheriff Alastair Carmichael.
Stephen Hutton, 39, of Arklay Street, admitted that on March 3, at an address on Clepington Road, he assaulted George Brunton and attempted to punch him on the head and body.
The sheriff ordered Hutton to be on a community payback order for 18 months.
This would include a drug treatment requirement.
