David Lindsay, 34, of King Street, was jailed at Dundee Sheriff Court for breaching a community payback order.
Lindsay admitted failing to comply with social workers and failing to attend appointments on the order, which had been imposed after he admitted breaching the peace by repeatedly posting messages on Facebook about his former girlfriend Evelyne Parker in November 2016, while on bail.
Sheriff Lorna Drummond told Lindsay there was no alternative to a prison sentence.
She said he had breached the order and had several other outstanding matters.
Lindsay was jailed for a total of 80 days.
