A serial shoplifter has been jailed for a year after breaching his latest community payback order.
William Young, 32, had been convicted of dozens of charges, mainly of shoplifting in Dundee, on a total of nine complaints dating back to 2016.
Young, of Gullane Place, admitted breaching his latest community payback order by failing to comply with social workers when he appeared at court.
Among the charges were breach of the peace and four shoplifting offences, while on bail, in 2016.
He also admitted stealing goods from shops including the Co-op, Marks & Spencer, Boots and Tesco in Dundee, while on bail orders, on various dates in 2017 and in March, April, May, June and July this year.
He also admitted committing a breach of the peace in Harlequins pub on Albert Street in December last year.
Sheriff Rafferty revoked the community payback order and sent Young to prison for 12 months.
