Robert Simpson, 38, of Helmsdale Avenue, was jailed for eight months by Sheriff Tom Hughes.
Simpson admitted that he behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm, shouted, swore and refused to leave when instructed to do so and behaved in an aggressive manner at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.
He also admitted resisting arrest by PCs Steven Wallace and Alexander Smart by struggling violently.
