A man accused of robbing a wheelchair-bound woman and cutting off her hand had his case continued.
Stephen Brisbane, 33, continued to make no plea to the charges at the High Court in Glasgow.
It is alleged he entered the home of Sandra McGowan on South Road on February 14 before stealing a number of items including a mobile phone and door fob.
He is then alleged to have assaulted the 62-year-old causing her to fall from her wheelchair.
Prosecutors claim he grabbed her wrist and severed her right hand with a knife, robbing her of a ring. Miss McGowan is said to have fallen unconscious.
Brisbane, of no fixed abode, also allegedly did not get medical help.
The charge states he attacked Miss McGowan to her severe injury, permanent disfigurement and impairment as well as to the danger of her life.
A further criminal preliminary hearing was fixed for September 6 for a report and for Brisbane to seek legal representation.
