A 65-year-old man has appeared in court accused of raping and sexually assaulting a woman and forcing a dead bird into her mouth.
Alexander Reilly is also alleged to have committed a string of sex offences against young boys and girls.
The 65-year-old appeared in private on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court before Sheriff John Rafferty to face a total of 12 charges.
The offences are alleged to have been committed between April 9 1970 and February 7 1986.
Reilly is alleged to have, on various occasions at two houses in Dundee, used lewd, indecent and libidinous practices and behaviour towards a young girl, indecently assaulted her, punched her on the body and attempted to rape her.
He is also accused of indecently assaulting a second girl on various occasions and punching her on the body, holding a knife against her throat and threatening her in an attempt to get her to perform a sexual act on him.
He is also alleged to have attempted to rape the girl on various occasions over a six-year period and attempted to have unlawful sexual intercourse when she was under 13 ,and again when she was still under 16.
He is accused of using lewd, indecent and libidinous practices towards two young boys, indecently assaulting them and punching them.
Reilly, of Ferniehill Drive, Edinburgh, is also alleged to have assaulted a woman on various occasions between August 7, 1981 and February 7, 1986, at addresses in Whitfield and Mid Craigie and elsewhere in Dundee, by repeatedly slapping and punching her, throwing beer cans at her, striking her on the face and kicking her while she was pregnant.
He allegedly placed feathers over her and forced them into her mouth, struck her in the face with a dead bird and rubbed the bird on her face.
He is also accused of forcing her into a cupboard and securing the door, preventing her from leaving, placing feathers under the door, placing knives under her pillow and in her bed and threatening to kill her.
It is also alleged that at a house in Whitfield, he indecently assaulted the woman using feathers, and, at an address unknown, he raped the same woman.
Reilly made no plea and was granted bail and committed for further examination.
