A man has appeared in court accused of threatening to kill police officers and brandishing knives and pieces of wood with nails in them at a city multi.
Ryan Black, 24, of Burnside Court, Whorterbank, appeared in private before Sheriff Alastair Carmichael at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Prosecutors allege Black, who appeared from custody, behaved in a threatening or abusive manner likely to cause a reasonable person fear or alarm, in that he shouted and swore, acted in an aggressive manner, repeatedly uttered threats of violence and threats to kill police officers, brandished two pieces of wood with nails and brandished two knives on Tuesday.
Solicitor Kim Samson made no plea on Black’s behalf during his brief appearance.
Sheriff Carmichael continued the case for further examination and Black was remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear in court again next week to be fully committed for trial.
